At Billings TrailNet, we’re thrilled to spotlight Big Sky Economic Development (BSED) as a powerhouse of support for our mission to enhance the trail system in our community.

BSED is a public-private partnership. Big Sky Economic Development Authority, the public agency, evolved from the Montana TradePort Authority launched in 1989 by Yellowstone County. Big Sky Economic Development Corporation, the private business side, was started in 2002 and has over 145 of the county’s top businesses as member-investor partners.

BSED supports and is actively working toward provides leadership and resources for business creation, expansion, retention, new business recruitment and community development.  The organization is also actively working toward developing the 5th Avenue Corridor, connecting Downtown to MetraPark, to enhance the quality of life in Billings.

They also are committed to beautifying Billings through their Space2Place program, where grants are awarded to recipients looking to add public art instillations to the Magic City. Billings TrailNet received one of these grants in 2024 to paint an interactive mural on The Skyline Trail.

BSED supported Billings TrailNet in a number of additional ways this year including featuring Kristi and Kristy on The Vault podcast and inviting Kristi to lead a discussion for local business leaders at Rock 31 on the importance of parks, recreation, and trails for community safety and growth.

We thank them immensely for their continued support and are proud to have them as a corporate member!  See their upcoming event calendar here.
