We are excited to announce that Billings TrailNet is one of six recipients of the Space2Place grant from Big Sky Economic Development (BSED)! The Space2Place Grant is a micro-grant awarded to Yellowstone County placemakers looking to beautify public spaces.

Billings TrailNet received a $5,000 grant to paint an interactive mural within the connector tunnel of The Skyline Trail underneath Zimmerman Trail.  Through collaborative efforts with local indigenous artist, Charli Sleeper and other community members, the goal of the mural is to highlight Native American history and culture along Montana’s Heritage Trail.  The Skyline Trail sits atop the rimrocks, which are recognized as a culturally significant place by the Crow Indians, who claim spiritual, cultural, and historical associations.
