will this trail be designed the way it is shown in the picture?
Not necessarily. The trail shown in the picture and video are just concepts and the trail has not yet been engineered.
how is it possible to overcome all the obstacles?
“Anything is possible with enough money to do it,” we heard one engineer tell us about this project.
how much will building this trail cost?
It was estimated to cost between $3 – $4 million
Why don’t you widen Zimmerman Road and put a trail next to it?
There is not enough room to safely put people next to traffic on Zimmerman Road.
Why not put a trail along 27th Street; or develop the Meyers Trail or the Country Club Trail?
In the City’s “Rims to Valley Feasiblity Study,” the results of all possible alternatives showed the Stagecoach Trail as the most feasible.
Why doesn’t the City of Billings engineer it?
Current city funds are stretched thin and there is no public funding specifically to build trails. Engineering this oursevles will at least put the city in the running for high-dollar federal grants that require significant matching dollars and “shoevel-ready” projects.
