As a frequent trail user I have enjoyed the scenery around Billings and the traffic free trails available for commuting, connecting and enjoying.  It’s great to see walkers, roller bladers, strollers, runners and bikers using the trails as well as people walking their dogs.  Because of the variety of uses we have for the trails, perhaps a little trail etiquette reminder would be helpful.

  1. Bike, walk, run on the right side of the trail leaving enough space for others to go around and/or meet you.
  2. Leash or control dogs for their protection as well as others.
  3. Please don’t litter and keep our trails clear of debris.
  4. Be aware of your surroundings and the multiple uses of the trails.
  5. Announce that you are coming up behind runners or walkers on the trail by using a bike bell or calling out, “on your left!”
