The weather was beautiful last Saturday for celebrating spring and the joy of cycling during the Tour de Fleur.

We welcomed every type of pedaled rider including couples, families, elected officials, a dog and even someone who dressed up in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee (pictured on the upper right of this page).

The highlight of the day was when a rider who’d been invited by a friend won a beautiful new bike in our raffle. Elated, she exclaimed that she’d been hesitant to ride a bike for most of her life after she had a bike crash as a child, but riding in the Tour de Fleur was fun and helped her overcome her fear of riding.

The Tour de Fleur was designed to get people back on a bike after they’d had time away from the sport and forgotten the freedom and joy bicycling brings.

However, experienced riders have also participated since the event began in 2016.

This year, decked-out riders participated in a contest for valuable prizes, and the celebration continued at Thirsty Street Tap Room where the brewery unveiled their ‘specially-for-BilingsTrailNet-made “Trail Junkie Kolsch.”

Live music by Karla and the Rhythm Destroyers welcomed cyclists back from their ride and entertained us ‘till late in the afternoon.

What a fun, colorful event! We look forward to hosting it again next summer.

Keep walkin’ and rollin’ by joining the Billings Commuter Challenge happening during the month of June.
