On August 16, 2023, we were informed that MDT awarded Billings the Stagecoach Trail funds. Yay! But we’re not out of the woods yet….

Now, MDT will advance the Stagecoach Trail for approval to the MDT Transportation Commission at their upcoming October 26, 2023 meeting.  

If the project nomination is approved by the Commission, MDT will prepare an agreement which will address funding, construction, and maintenance. After this agreement is signed by both the City of Billings and MDT, MDT will then request Federal programming which can then take around two weeks to receive. Once Federal programming is received, MDT will give the City approval to begin the work.
