Exciting news! The Transportation Commission met on October 26, 2023 and approved the Stagecoach Trail project, plus another important project, sidewalks along Old Hardin Road.

In further good news, the Transportation Commission voted to allow the City of Billings the authority to let, award, and administer its own Transportation Alternative projects. Prior to this new arrangement, MDT had to administer all Transportation Alternatives projects. This will not only make projects move through the construction process faster, it will also save money by eliminating administrative costs MDT must charge when they administer projects.

The Stagecoach Trail is in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan to start construction in July 2025 (in Fiscal Year 2026).
